2. What Data is Processed and Why
We do not directly collect or store personal data. The game utilizes third-party services that process technical identifiers. While we only access aggregated or pseudonymous statistics that do not allow us to directly identify you, these identifiers (such as IP addresses) are considered personal data under EU law.
- Unity Analytics (Unity Technologies) — Processes gameplay stats (e.g., level progression, deaths) and technical identifiers to help improve the game. We do not receive directly identifiable information from Unity. See Unity Privacy Policy.
- Steam (Valve) — The game uses Steam services (e.g., achievements, cloud saves). These rely on Steam account identifiers handled by Valve. We do not access your Steam account data. See Steam Privacy Policy.
- Feedback Survey (Google Forms) — Optional. The form does not request personal data; free-text fields may include personal data only if you choose to provide it. See Google Privacy Policy.
- Website — Static; no cookies, trackers, or data collection.
- Discord — Community server only; we do not collect or process user data there.
3. Legal Basis (EU GDPR)
- Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR): Processing technical and analytics data necessary to develop, maintain, and improve the game.
- Consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR): Any information you voluntarily provide in survey free-text fields.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell personal data. Processing is limited to the third-party service providers named above acting under their own privacy policies and legal responsibilities.
5. Your Rights (EU GDPR)
You have the right to access, rectification, and erasure of your data, and the right to lodge a complaint with your Data Protection Authority.
To exercise your right to object to analytics processing:
Because we do not have access to your identity or specific technical IDs, we cannot manually identify or delete your specific analytics packets. You may exercise your right to object by playing the game in "Steam Offline Mode" or by using a firewall to prevent the game from communicating with Unity servers.
For survey submissions, email shiftingrealityinteractive@gmail.com.
6. Retention
Unity and Valve retain technical data according to their own policies. Optional survey responses are kept only as long as needed for game improvement and then deleted.
7. International Transfers
Third-party providers (Unity, Google, Valve) may process data outside the EU/EEA. Where applicable, they use appropriate safeguards such as the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework or Standard Contractual Clauses.
8. Children
The game is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from individuals below the minimum age defined by applicable law or the Steam Subscriber Agreement.
9. Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes will be posted here with a new “Last updated” date.
